The family had outgrown their home in the quiet, accumulating way that happens when children get older and everyone needs more space of their own.
The loft conversion delivered a proper bedroom for their teenage daughter, a dedicated home office, and a new shower room — without the house feeling like it had been built onto.
A planning constraint that could have meant compromising on light was turned into a private terrace: adding space and not something that would have existed without the restriction. The first floor bathroom was redesigned at the same time, finally giving the family the storage it had always been missing.
